The wedding is semi-formal, and since it’s winter in Detroit, warmth is key!
Ladies: Long dresses, elegant cocktail dresses, or dressy separates are all great options. Since December in Michigan can be unpredictable, we recommend closed-toe shoes and warm layers. Feel free to bring your most fabulous coat, wrap, or shawl to stay cozy.
Gentlemen: A suit and tie is requested. Consider layering with a stylish overcoat, as it could be anywhere from brisk to downright chilly outside.
Early December in Detroit can be unpredictable! The average high ranges from 37°F (3°C) to 34°F (1°C), with lows dipping between 26°F (-3°C) and 25°F (-4°C). While December is one of Detroit’s snowier months, early December snowfall is usually lighter than later in the month. Expect anything from a crisp winter day to a snowy wonderland—plan accordingly!
The Lafayette Grande has a large parking lot on-site, so there’s plenty of space for guests. There is also a parking lot across the street.
Detroit Metro Airport (DTW) is the nearest major airport, about 45 minutes from Pontiac. Rideshare services (Uber/Lyft) and rental cars are available at the airport.
We love your little ones, but we’re keeping our wedding an adults-only celebration—with one exception. Since we know traveling for a wedding can be a challenge, we’re making an exception for out-of-town guests who need to bring their children. If this applies to you, please let us know in advance so we can plan accordingly!
