In town for a few days? Below are our favorite places around Metro Detroit - do check them out if you have time to kill!
One of our favorite places in Detroit to see weird things onstage. We've met some great people here and been able to continue our writing pursuits post-grad school. Daniel's stage managed tons of shows and was a part of the weekly variety show, Ants in the Hall while Mary wrote and directed a one-act play.
Detroit is home to some of the Midwest’s most beautiful and historic theaters, each offering a unique experience and a glimpse into the city’s rich arts heritage. Two of our personal favorites to visit with friends are the Senate Theater—famous for its dazzling “Mighty Wurlitzer” pipe organ and classic movie screenings—and the Redford Theatre, renowned for its restored 1920s Japanese-inspired architecture and regular showings of classic films, often with live organ accompaniment.
